Make Space For What You Love To Return & 12 CEs for Social Workers
Hello Creative Soul,
I hope you’re settling into this new year and beginning to find your own rhythm. I need to confess. I didn’t make any Pinterest-worthy paintings in 2025. I didn’t write a book. I didn’t make sweeping changes that looked impressive from the outside. But I did slow down. I doodled a lot, slept deeply and started to nap again. I said no to some big offerings that made me anxious and yes to small offerings that made my heart skip a beat. As I found my new rhythm, something unexpected happened. Old parts of me began to surface. I started reading fiction, my doodles and other small glimmers became real sources of joy, deep belly laughs with my kids became more regular and my presence shifted from scattered to focused.
Of course, there’s always more work to do. But this year got me thinking: maybe those old parts of ourselves never really go away. Maybe they’re just patiently waiting for us to return. I like to think the same is true for our creative expression. With the right environment, a bit of guidance, and space for healing, we begin to make room for what we love to return.
On January 23rd we begin our 12-CE in-person Creative Burnout Prevention Course for Social Workers. This is a hands-on, restorative experience filled with paint and color, designed to support nervous system regulation, creative renewal, and sustainable engagement in the work you do every day.
Alongside that, our Process Painting Groups remain an ongoing invitation to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and create without pressure or performance. These groups are less about making “good art" and more about understanding old parts, making space for new parts, and leaving room for what may be ready to return in a really creative way.
I hope to create with you soon!
Big Love,
Elissa

What Are Process Painting Groups?
Our process painting groups are designed for self-care and personal growth. We focus on the experience of painting itself, rather than the final product, offering a playful and non-judgmental space for creative exploration. Through experiential painting and embodied self-inquiry, these groups support nervous system regulation, personal renewal, and sustainable engagement.
What you’ll experience in a process painting group:
* A spacious, supportive environment rooted in presence
* Reconnection with your creative self
* Community connection that reduces isolation
* A sense of curiosity, openness, and embodied resilience
Benefits:
* Reduce emotional and physical stress
* Promote emotional regulation and neuroplasticity
* Enhance well-being and prevent burnout
* Support healing through nonverbal expression
